Referent*in - Rebecca Abena Kennedy-Asante
Rebecca Abena Kennedy-Asante ( on the right) studied naturopathy, nature protection and ecology. In addition to botany, she is interested in movements that act anti-racist, feminist and environmentally protective.
Abeni is part of a BPoC group in Berlin that is committed to environmental and climate justice:
The "BPoC Environmental Justice Group Bln" (current working title)
is committed to sustainability, veganism, environmental protection and
climate justice from a Black and a PoC perspective. How work
the oppression of marginalized groups of people and the
the oppression of nature together? Who is particularly affected by climate change? And how can movements be reclaimed that are
dedicated to these questions?
Not only should the white- and cis-heterodominated left
activist environment scene be questioned, but above all, a space
for intersectional activism, in which BIPoC
feel good, shall be created.
We are glad to have Abeni at the festival!
