Dr. phil. Aki Krishnamurthy (born 1980), (cis-woman, PoC): girlfriend, sister, mother, daughter, theatre activist, feminist. Since 2007 she has been practicing theatre of the oppressed on a freelance basis and increasingly dance theatre in various contexts (Latin America, Caucasus, Germany, India), mostly with a specific focus on gender relations, racism and empowerment. She is convinced that social changes of and with the body must be thought of.
In addition to her practical political body work, she has written her doctoral thesis on shame, gender, power and the body in the South Asian postcolonial context.
