This is what Aki says about herself:

I am Aki (cis woman abled bodied of color) and have been practicing freelance theater of the oppressed and increasingly dance theater in different contexts (Latin America, Caucasus, Germany, India) since 2007; mostly with a specific focus on gender relations, racism and empowerment. I am convinced that social change must be thought of and with the body.
In addition to my practical political body work, I did my PhD on the complex of issues of shame, gender, power and the body in the South Asian context from a postcolonial perspective.
