My passion is to create a space where you feel not only empowered, but informed about your hair. My work is political as I slowly remove layers of misinformation and misunderstanding around beauty norms. My work is really trauma revealing, but also healing. It's about breaking down texturism, colorism and stereotypes and reversing them. The love that comes with what I do is really intimate and honest. It roots back to a time when doing hair was a community event in pre-colonial Africa.
