Act - Oyemi Noize
This is what Oyèmi says about herself:
My name is Oyèmi Noize (she/her). I am a musician, part of the collective DECOLONOIZE and a social worker. Authenticity, community building & creating safer spaces are especially important to me. I think the IV is an important place and I hope the participants can take a lot for themselves.
This is how Oyèmi describes her music:
My music is about personal experiences and my view on the world from the perspective of a black, neurodiverse female read socialized in East Germany. My songs are melancholic, partly danceable to experimental. I don't like to stick to genre boundaries and always love to try new things and thus always challenge myself as a songwriter and a person.
Oyèmi is particularly concerned with these topics:
Mental Health, Racism, Black Feminism, Alternative BIPoC Culture/Music, Social Inequality.
